Running a mobile spa business is incredibly rewarding, but it’s not without its challenges. When I first started my business, the biggest hurdle I faced was finding a reliable bus seller. After searching online, I came across a seller on Facebook Marketplace who had a bus in Houston, Texas. I paid a deposit of $3,000 through Cash App to hold the bus and then drove all the way to Houston to pick it up. However, when I arrived, the seller wasn’t there. Instead, another person told me they hadn’t received the deposit, and that it was non-refundable. I was devastated. Losing $3,000 taught me an invaluable lesson about verifying sellers and payment methods. It was a tough start, but I didn’t let it stop me from pursuing my dream.

Logistics are another common challenge for mobile spa owners. Managing parking, weather, and space constraints can be tricky. Our services are provided entirely on our spa bus, so unless there’s a hurricane, we always go to our clients’ homes. To avoid cancellations, I make sure clients understand that deposits are non-refundable but can be applied to a rescheduled date. This policy has helped maintain fairness while ensuring I’m compensated for preparation work.
